Potty!!!

September 22, 2009~ Etc.

Can I get a what what-

For the third time 3 days in a row Adalie has peed on the potty~!!! Not in the Disney pink princess potty we got her but on a real toilet! She realized very quickly that everytime she pees on the potty, she gets endless praise and excitement from the laughing, smiling, ecastatic parents and not to mention candy or ice-cream. As soon as she pees, she comes right up to me with a proud look on her face and just stands there and waits for me to praise her and kiss her all over and tell her how smart, funny, sweet, pretty she is. Oh how she loves the attention.

Buying only 1 box of diapers instead of 2 at Costco- HERE WE COME!!!

For daddy

September 17, 2009~ Etc.

I recorded this about a month ago to post it on here so that Jay could see it at work the next day…but yeah a month later here it is.

It’s crazy how much an almost 2yr. old picks up on things. She surprises me with words I had no idea she even knew everyday. She can speak 6-word sentences and her favorite things to say are “YEAH!”, “I want more chocolate/popsicle now.”, “baby’s nai nai/up/eat/laugh/sad/crying.”, “dada’s at work?”, “Dada’s nai nai, mommy’s nai nai, baby’s nai nai, Adalie’s nai nai.”(she repeats this every night), and “Mommy, I wanna by you.” (mommy, I wanna be by you as she scoots herself over right next to me. It is the sweetest thing in the world). She knows all the colors of the ottor-pops so that she could tell me which one she wants, Jay’s been saying since 4-5 months ago that he can say any alphabet and she’ll say and point to the right alphabet foam toy that sticks on the bathtub. I’m kind of skeptical of that one because I’ll point to an alphabet in like a book and she doesn’t know them all but maybe she’s too used to the alphabet foams. I still haven’t tested that one yet but I should. Not that I don’t believe you or anything Jay…eh hem.

Moving on, she loves vegetables especially mushrooms, brocolli, and green beans and she loves her meat! She is definitely ready to be potty trained but haven’t officially started because 1. I’m too tired in the morning. 2. taking care of Ariana as well is just so busy and hectic as it is. There is a saying in Korea that raising 2 kids a year apart is harder than raising twins. My friend’s sister’s has a set of twins and also 2 kids a year apart and she says raising twins is much easier.

I feel like the world does not give enough credit to mothers and think it’s a chill, easy job where you just “hang out” with your kids and eat, watch t.v, take a nap and take it easy. That makes me so annoyed because only mothers know how emotionally, physically, and mentally difficult it actually is. I was watching Oprah awhile back and it was focused on mothers and this mother of two who was like a co-CEO or a “big deal” of some company was laid off so she had no choice but to be a full time mother and she said she absolutely hates it. Haha how sad but I thought it was so refreshing how honest she was. She said when she worked 12 hr. days and then come home and still have to be on calls and be a wife and a mother was much much easier than working 24 hrs. of being a nanny, cook, maid, nutritionist, coach, friend, therapist.

Once my friend came over to see me and I only had Adalie at that time and we watched cartoons and ate snacks and she said to me, “Wow, this is such an awesome job huh? you just hang out with your kid all day.” I just nodded and said, “Yep, pretty much….” Then a few months later she babysat her nephew for 2 days and she called me and told me, “You know how I said you just chill with your kid all day? Well, I take that back. This is SOOOOOOO hard! I can’t nap, I can’t rest, I can’t do anything I want to do, he occupies all my time and I’m just pure exhausted! How do you do it every single day?”

So the point of me rambling on is that US mothers are PHENOMENON, AMAZING, INCREDIBLE, SELFLESS, ANGELIC, TRUE HEROES and that the world should give us more credit and bow down in gratitude for what we do. We save this world. Haha yes I self-proclaimed, take it or leave it. And you mothers out there who have kids that are one year apart OR have 3 or more kids-I applaud you even more.

Can I just tell you how excited I am for Halloween? Here is a little preview. πŸ™‚

Wedding Photo Shoot

September 8, 2009~ Etc.

Whitney Lewis a local photographer used us as the models for her wedding portfolio. She also took some bridals of me as well. I’m so happy we did because I love the pictures!!! I love her style and she is a talented photographer. In the beginning of the shoot Jay was somewhat awkward and shy but 10 mins. into the shoot Jay was all into it, telling ME how we should pose and coming up with bunch of ideas himself(like dipping me to kiss me, his G.Q pose) haha. We had a fun time. She took over 400 pictures and these are just some of them she edited so I’m excited to see more!

Mama’s B-day

August 22, 2009~ Etc.

My mom turned 30 today. πŸ˜‰ I wanted to write her a sentimental card but I couldn’t concentrate while my two kids were crying this afternoon. So a blog it is.

My mom is a full time stay at home mom. She was always home when I returned from school and I can remember only twice when she wasn’t home. I remember I felt so odd and I just sat on the couch doing homework not knowing where she was or what was going on and looking at the clock waiting for her to come home. I think that is why I always dreamed of being a stay at home mom who packs sack lunches for the kids with cute little cards inside, to be at home when kids come home from school so I can make yummy snacks for them and talk about how their day was. My mom is the most sweet, caring, perfect, innocent, selfless person I know. She laughs like a little girl(but SUPER loud) and when she talks on the phone you can hear her clearly from another room as if she’s RIGHT next to you. She cries easily while watching movies or Korean dramas and that’s why I’m a cry baby myself. People always think I’m my mom when I answer the phone at home and when I say I’m the daughter, they are shocked and always say, “You sound exactly like your mother!”

I’ve caused her many heartaches and tears and it breaks my heart knowing that I have. I’m sorry mom. If I could go back in time, I would never do anything wrong so that I never hurt you.

You are a wonderful mother, the best mother I could’ve ever asked for and I thank God that I was so lucky to be sent to you as your daughter. I strive everyday to be more like you and to be as good of a mom as you were to me. I love you SO SO much. I will live the rest of my life attempting to pay you back, to make you happy and proud of me.

Happy birthday mom. You deserve every bit.

Father’s Day-yes it was forever ago, I know. ^ ^

August 19, 2009~ Etc.

I’ll be taking a trip down the memory lane of the last 3 months or so for the next who knows how many posts. And I don’t know why I cared how many people read our posts, I know we got a lot of readers and this is after all for our children to read in the future. πŸ™‚

Father’s day banner

Homemade card

Jay’s presents

French toast with homemade coconut syrup. Super easy and super good!

I made shirts for all of us like last year. Mine says “I heart J”

Adalie’s, “Yes daddy, I promise no dating ’till I’m 36”. Ariana’s, “My daddy can beat up your daddy”. And Jay’s is the J logo all over as you can see. It took me forever to make his but I think it was worth it. πŸ™‚

Little girls matching in dressses Gma got for them.

Yes we can still smile even when one kid is tired and one kid is crying. That’s just life with two kids under two and you just learn to stress less.

Chocolate ice-cream pie with peanut butter. I made it up and it was GOOOOOOOOOD!

Of course I had to make Jay’s favorite: chocolate covered strawberries.

I am so glad I married this guy. I cannot imagine my life without him, especially raising two babies. Happy Father’s day to the best father in the world!
