ONE OF MY BIGGEST REGRETS

June 20, 2016~ Etc.

I just stood in line at Walmart(ran out of rice milk for my son,#momlife!) when I heard a little girl say, “Is the card not going through again?” I looked up to see the father’s face flush. My heart leaped with joy as I asked, “Is your card not going through?” Then the cashier wrapped the card inside a plastic bag and this time it worked(what the?). I smiled at the father and told him how my card gets declined all the time due to computer error and we exchanged warm smiles and off he went. But I was disappointed that his card went through.

You see, one of my biggest regrets in my life was several years ago when I stood in line behind a mother & a young child, trying to buy a few containers of water using food stamps. “Oh, you can’t buy water with food stamps.” the cashier said. My first reaction was to scream out, “I’ll buy it for you!” but then a fear came over me. “What if I offend her? What if she doesn’t want my help and she’d be offended by my offer?” So I stayed quiet and as my heart was breaking with regret, I watched her walk away with her little girl, without any water, with empty hands.

COLD AND FRESH LEMONADE!

June 15, 2016~ Etc.

The girls have been asking and begging to have a lemonade stand sale for a long time. So I finally gave in and went shopping at midnight to buy all the supplies, made the lemonade, set everything up, basically I spent all the money getting the lemonade stand ready and did all the preparations and the work and they kept all the profit. This business of mine is not going very well for me. Talk about the worst business model ever! Hahaha,  so joking, I would do anything for these kids of mine. I remember having a popsicle/lemonade sale when I was 12 and making $27 and we were so pumped and one of my friend’s mom said something like, “Oh, yay! I spent $32 and you girls earned $27!” and it reminded me of that. Now I understand where she was coming from. I understand moms life now!

Summer has been full of sticky lemonade making, water gun fights, eating popsicles, lots of scooter riding, and lots of sweating which means a lot of baths. I got to try JOHNSON’S® Oh Joy! collection sold exclusively at Target and Target.com, and man, that girl is working it! My blogger friend texts me to tell me what other company Oh Joy! got to work with and we are always slightly jealous. 😉 But her products and designs are so adorable, I love the bright colors and the fun prints she always comes up with.

WE’VE BEEN MARRIED FOR 9 YEARS!!!

June 13, 2016~ Etc.

On a Thursday, I was just doing my regular thing and took the kids to McDonald’s for some chicken nuggets and a McFlurry when Jay asked what we were doing. “We are at McD’s.” I texted him. Then 10 minutes later, Jay showed up with a bouquet of beautiful flowers and a card and said, “Happy Anniversary!” and my reply was? “Wait, our anniversary is tomorrow!” to which he said, “Um. no… it’s today.” I looked at the calendar and oh crap! It was today! This is my second time forgetting the day of our anniversary, I’m the worst wife!
