Father’s Day Celebration

June 24, 2010~ Etc.

I’m so grateful for blogs. It’s like my journal online and my kids will be able to see it in the future and Jay and I won’t forget our memories together. We spent the Father’s Day relaxed and chill just the way Jay wanted it.

He woke up to breakfast-my heart shaped rice wasn’t as impressive as his though.

his favorite snacks. He always says I’m the biggest snack pack but I don’t know about that! And he had a few more presents given to him throughout the day. I gave Adalie a bag of gifts and said to her, “Go give it to daddy!” and she went to him and ripped the present herself and then threw the present to him. Haha, she is so cute.

My parents were suppose to come to dinner too but they realized the night before they already had a dinner appointment made with their friends a few months in advance. πŸ™

made Jay’s favorite food: kalbi. click on the word for my recipe!

and played Monopoly! Jay was dominating us all in the beginning. the point: in the beginning, muhahaha.
My parents were able to stop by late at night right before bedtime(thus my just washed & super-shiny face. am I the only one that gets a really shiny face after washing it and lotioning it?) so I was able to give my dad some love.

I made t-shirts for Father’s Day 2 years ago and last year. So it’s kind of become a tradition. Jay mentioned to me a couple months ago how he wanted to get us matching Mickey Mouse t-shirts for when we go to Disney Land this Summer so it wasn’t that hard to think of what I wanted to make this year.
for the bebes. I got the t-shirts for $3 each and printed the picture on a iron-on paper and just ironed it on the shirts! So easy! I just used the paper they had at the copy center so it was $5 per page so I might just buy the paper myself and print it out in the future.

for Jay and I. It totally looks store-bought right? πŸ™‚ Jay wanted to save the t-shirts for when we go to Disney Land so we’ll have to take pictures of us wearing it then.

Oh and one important thing I have to mention…as I laid in bed on Saturday night after I made the post “A tribute to 3 great fathers”, I realized I forgot to mention the most important father of all, Heavenly Father! I felt terrible and quickly apologized to him and was able to make him feel better. Haha. I felt like he was a little disappointed that I had completely forgotten about him. So here are 10 things I love about my Heavenly Father.

1. He is the sweetest being in the universe. His heart aches when I ache, he comforts me when I’m sad and he doesn’t judge me but is quick to forgive and forget. Aww he melts my heart.
2. He is so patient. Even though I make many mistakes, a lot of them the same ones over and over again, he doesn’t give up on me but believes in my full potential.
3. He loves me dearly. And has blessed me so much. I feel like the luckiest girl.
4. He protects me. He speaks to me through my thoughts and tells me to get out of certain situations so that I’ll be safe.
5. He has given me a wonderful family, wonderful husband, and two kids who are beautiful and sweet.
6. He gives me guildelines and commandments and if I obey, not only am I more happy, he gives me blessings for keeping them. It’s a never-ending blessing cycle!
7. He listens intently and answers my prayers. All of them. Even though it might be a no sometimes.
8. I feel his love and presence everyday.
9. I can talk to him whenever I want and he is never too busy.
10. He loves me unconditionally. He died for me. No one has ever made a greater sacrifice than he has for me.

I love you Heavenly Father. You are everything that is good and everything I have is because of you.

I’m so grateful for the wonderful fathers in my life. I love you all.

A tribute to 3 Great Fathers

June 20, 2010~ Etc.

I get to celebrate Father’s Day with three best fathers in the world, my dad, Jay’s dad and Jay. I haven’t been able to celebrate this special day with my dear sweet daddy for a long time so I’m so excited. And Jay’s dad is coming this coming week and we’re so excited!

(yes this picture I photoshopped and it’s terrible I know. I realized I hardly have any pictures of just me and dad! Note to self. πŸ˜‰

If I were to write 10 reasons why I am so grateful for my daddy it would be because he is:

1. Hard working.
2. A spiritual giant.
3. Honest and full of integrity.
4. Charitable.
5. Sweet.
6. Always respected and trusted our free agency and supported it.
7. Unconditional love for me. No matter what I did.
8. Didn’t spoil me but instead taught me to work for what I wanted.
9. Had family prayer and scriptures daily and conducted Family Home Evening every week.
10. He has taught me to have unmoving and unshakable faith in Jesus Christ through just the person that he is.

I love you dad. So much. They say the greatest thing a man can ever do is within the walls of his own home. You have achieved that and so much more. I will love you forever and ever.

Here are 10 reasons why I love Jay’s dad.

1. Intelligent. He is pretty much a genius. When he got married and was looking for a home, he decided to build his own home so he bought a book and built it by himself. Seriously, who does that? πŸ™‚
2. Such a fun grandfather. My daughters ADORE him and want him more than they want me when he’s with us.
3. He’s very good looking. Even my mom when they met for the first time said out loud, “Wow, you’re so good looking!” and then surprised at her own response started giggling out of embarrassment haha. I hope Jay ages well like him.
4. Raised a man I love and admire. That says a lot.
5. Hard working.
6. Generous and so sweet. He always spoils us.
7. He always takes the family out to go do fun things. He’s not the typical grandfather who just sits with their grandchild and rocks on the rocking chair. Instead, he takes the kids out on a scooter ride.
8. He loves me like his own daughter.
9. Genuine. You can see it in his kind face.
10. I love his jokes and his sense of humor. Even though I’m the only one laughing at his jokes sometimes. haha.

Thank you dad for having me be a part of your family! I love you!

I guess I gotta write 10 reasons why I’m grateful for Jay now so he doesn’t feel left out. Oh shesh, I’m just joking Jay! It is my honor to write reasons why I’m so grateful for him every year on Father’s Day. Here are 10 characteristics Jay has that I admire so much.

1. Incredible patience.
2. Handyman. He can build and fix anything and it’s become so handy. He just tiled my mom’s bathroom last week!
3. Hard working. I’m so grateful for his parents who have taught him great work ethic. That is truly priceless.
4. Clean and orderly.
5. Loyal. He’ll always have my back.
6. Very smart and wise. He always points out little things I tend to overlook.
7. Street smart as well. Helps me with my super-naiveness.
8. Excellent listener.
9. So romantic and thoughtful.
10. Supported all my ambitions such as starting an online clothing store, and running for Oprah.

I love you Jay. You fill my heart with happiness completely.

Happy Father’s Day to the 3 greatest dads I know and to every great father out there!

Adalie’s Oprah Video

June 17, 2010~ Etc.

This lady I know came up to me at church last Sunday and told me of a conversation she recently had with her 6 yr. old son.

Son: “Mom, can I bring a girl home?”
Mom: “….What girl? Is she in your class?”
Son: “No, she’s not in my class. But she’s really pretty.”
Mom: “Who is she? What’s her name?”
Son: “Her name is Adalie and she’s two.”
Mom: “(laughing) Oh okay, we’ll have to talk to Adalie’s mom and see if they can come over sometime.”
Son: (smiling) “OKAY!!!”

He’s this cute little boy we see at church who always comes to find us so he can stare at Adalie and tell me how pretty she is. Oh boy. Should I be worried? Haha well we’re going over to their house for dinner tonight. And I guarantee Jay will watch the little boy like a hawk and make sure he doesn’t make any moves on her.

Ariana’s a little heartbreaker too already. When we go to the playground, little boys just walk right up to her, rub her head and walk away and continue doing so every 5 mins. or so. Is it because she’s cute or she’s bald? We may never know but even when Ariana’s going down the slide or going up the stairs, 2-3 boys will come near her to watch her or hold her hand to make sure she doesn’t fall or get hurt.

I know I’m not biased. My kids are pretty darn cute and irresisitible. πŸ˜‰ Here’s a video of Adalie trying to mimic me while I was filming the Oprah video. The first one is of me practicing my lines and the 2nd and 3rd one is of her.
