family picnic

May 24, 2011~ Etc.

on days like when i really really don’t feel like cooking,
we go get some food and take it to the playground for a little picnic.
is it just me that thinks dinner menu planning/writing down a grocery list/grocery shopping
is such a chore? i enjoy cooking but not all the work that goes into it before.
and it seems like no matter how much food i buy, there’s nothing to eat when you open the refrigerator!
life would be splendid if we had our own personal chef but i guess i’ve got nothing to complain about.
i’ve learned it’s easy to get caught up in i want’s but it’s better to focus on i have’s.
life is much better that way anyway.
and making dinner every night is a little sacrifice i’ll gladly make for my little family.

sunday walk

May 23, 2011~ Etc.

it’s been rainy here in UT but today was a nice day so we went on a walk to the temple after church.
and adalie being the usual fashionista decided to wear my skirt as a dress.  she loves wearing my clothes and i have a feeling it’s never going to stop.  not to mention jay mixes up our clothes all the time when folding laundry and i’ll find adalie’s skirt in my pile or my shirt in adalie’s pile.  it happens everytime. (and yes my husband washes clothes and puts it away, isn’t he a sweetheart? i wait till we have two full loads of whites and coloreds but he can’t wait that long and just puts it all in the washer haha. and i don’t mind that he does 🙂
but oh weather, please please stay good!

every second counts

May 20, 2011~ Etc.

before i start my ramblings, can you see what’s wrong with these pictures?
the first picture is me all ready for bed a few days ago with a winter coat on
and the second picture is me today about to go outside with a winter coat on!
what the utah, are you serious??? in case you didn’t know, it’s late may already!!!
anyway, last sunday during church, i was about to go to sunday school when these two little girls whom were sisters aged 4 and 5 were playing in the back of the chapel.  my friend was near them so i went to talk to her and we ended up playing with the little girls.  they were so cute and adorable, bright blonde hairs with matching navy and white striped dresses.  we played with them a little, tickling them, playing chase with them, hiding behind the curtains and scarying them, and then we would tell them how we had to go to class and they would start asking us questions so we wouldn’t leave.  my friend eventually left but i ended up playing with them for a good 20 minutes just making them laugh, and i thought to myself, “these girls are soooooo fun and sooooo adorable!” and then i thought, “wait, i have two little girls who are sooooo fun and sooooo adorable too!”

and i realized as their mother, i take the time i have with them for granted at times.  as much as feeling like i’m their slave and their maid sometimes with their never ending requests(mommy, can you get me more apple juice? mommy, i’m hungry, make me a snack, mommy, i’m done pooping, come wipe my butt, mommy, can you make me this, make me that, get me this, get me that….), and sometimes i can’t wait ’till it’s their bedtime so i can get some alone time, they are the cutest things i’ve ever seen and i love them to pieces.  i realized i spend time with them but not play with them as much as i can during free times when we’re just sitting there eating, or doing nothing, it’s only when we have “things” to do like jumping on the trampoline, going to the zoo, the aquarium, on a picnic, to the playground, etc., and when we’re just sitting there with nothing to do, i just cuddle with them or when we’re eating, i’m busy checking my phone.  i forget to focus 100% of my attention on them or play with them but instead just watch and observe.  and since they’re near me, and i mean near like within 4 ft. proximity AT ALL times, i happily go do my own thing when they play so well with each other.  but they’re so fun, so bright, so happy, so sweet, so funny, so interesting, so pure and simple-minded, so light-hearted, everything good in this world they posess, like all other little kids in this world and i should not take even a second i have with them for granted.

so i’m so grateful for these cute little girls i played with on sunday whom reminded me how fun my little girls are, and how it’s so fun to make them laugh and that i should play with them more as in real play, like playing tag, hide and go seek, and just making them giggle and laugh during our free times when there aren’t “things” to do and to play with them instead of just watching and observing.
mommy loves you so much adi and ana.
i will strive everyday to become the mother that you deserve.

cutie pies

May 16, 2011~ Etc.

pictures from a princess tea party at our local grocery store
adi loves her little sister and always thinks of her in the highest regard.  one time adi was pretending to be a princess and i asked her what princess she was. she said, “i’m princess belle from beauty and the beast. i’m the beauty and (pointing to ana) she’s the beast.”
today we were jumping on the trampoline and the little flowers from the trees around us were falling down. i told the girls that they could make a wish everytime a flower fell down. so we lied down on the trampoline and started making wishes.  as a flower was falling down i asked adi, “what do you wish for?” she said, “i wish to be a princess and a prince will come save me. and mommy will be a queen, daddy will be a king, and ana will be my horsie!”
adi loves her heavenly father.  we live very close to the temple and everytime we drive by it she says, “mommy! can we go see heavenly father at the temple? i miss him that’s why…”
her primary teacher told me one sunday as they were walking down the hall to their classroom, there was a picture of Jesus on the wall.  she passed by it, then turns around and points to the picture all big-eyed and looking shocked she says, “hey! that’s my best friend!”  like what is my best friend’s picture doing on the wall?
last night while i was cooking dinner adi comes to me and said, “mommy, can i get heavenly father’s phone number?” i asked her, “why do you want heavenly father’s phone number?” and she said, “i just want to see what his voice looks like.  so can i?”

and this video is of ana praying.  we did pray officially right after and this was just to capture the cuteness.

p.s: a lot of the comments from my last 3 posts have been deleted due to blogspot shutting down, including the Urban Natures giveaway.  so please make sure your comments have been entered, it’s the last day to enter, thanks!
