“you have the most beautiful legs!”

July 25, 2011~ Etc.

we went to a waterpark this past weekend.  some highlights of the day:

we were walking towards the waterpark when a lady walking behind us yells out, “you have the most beautiful legs!”  and jay automatically turns around with a big grin on his face, thinking she was talking to him and about to say thank you but she goes, “no, not you.  i was talking to her.”  and points to someone else.  so jay gets all embarrassed and says, “oh, shoot! i thought you were talking to me!” and he sounded really bummed.  (he has heard several times how he has really nice legs so it makes sense though 🙂 but honey, i think you have the most beautiful legs, don’t you worry. 😉
there were these two big slides you can go down if you were 48″ taller or if you sat on someone’s lap.  my older one was hesitant but since my lil’ one has no fear and she was all gung-ho about going, sister went along with us up the stairs.  once we got up and she saw how high we were, she no longer wanted to go down.  i told jay to go down with her anyway(i’m such a good mommy), and so even though she was saying no, no, he went down with her.  then you could hear her screaming and crying, and jay screaming along with her(it was a pretty scary slide, i’m not gonna lie!) and i felt so bad for her.  lil’ one and i went down and of course she loved it and was laughing the whole time, but i was thinking of my other girl, but when we got out, i saw her smiling and laughing and she said, “mommy, let’s go again!”  jay said she was crying at first but then it quickly turned into laughter.  so she ended up loving it and we climbed up the stairs holding each daughter in our arms and went down the slides again and again and again, and again. and some more.  i think we went down at least 25+ times?  both of our legs were sore at the end of the day, but the laughter and the smile on their faces when they came out of the slide was so worth it.  it was one of those moments when you feel a complete sense of happiness and contentment and you take a mental picture in your head, wishing it would last a little longer.
and then there was a pioneer thing going on right next to the waterpark so we stopped by after.
i wish they still made cars like these.  so classy.
it was a perfect day.

maybe i shouldn’t drive the rest of the month

July 22, 2011~ Etc.

remember these?  strawberries & cream, and chocolate & vanilla are my favorite.
i had to bribe my girls with these to take some photos of them.
i love how they always try to copy what the other one’s doing.
today could’ve ended better.  i think this month is just bad luck for me and cars because less than two weeks after i got a speeding ticket, i got in a car accident.  it was my first time hitting a moving car(i backed into a parked car at a parking lot when i was 15 with a permit but we don’t need to talk about that ;), and when i got out of the car i just started to cry but i’m so grateful no one was hurt.  and even though today could’ve ended better, it could’ve ended worse.  i think i stressed a lot less before i got married and had kids because if i had gotten in an accident like this before, i would’ve been bummed for about 10 mins. and then think, ‘no one got hurt, the only thing i lost was money which is not a big deal, it’s just money.’ and forget about it but now that i don’t make the money but my husband does, i think, ‘oh, i feel so bad for jay who works so hard to earn money for us but i spend it all because of my stupid mistakes like this, oh, he just bought this car not long ago, this is like his baby, oh, think of all the things i could’ve bought for my little girls with that money…”  and it just goes on.  but from today i learned that yes, driving while talking on the phone is really not a good idea and i promised myself i would not use the phone while driving from now on.  and i can’t help but think maybe this happened so that i wouldn’t get into a bigger accident in the future because i was talking on the phone, so it was God’s way of preventing something that could’ve been a lot worse.  and even though i do stress more now that i’m married and am a mother because every decision i make affects not only me but my husband and my kids, it also makes me be a better person knowing that every decision i make affects the whole family.
something funny though was when i got out of the car after the accident, the other people thought i was just a little girl(even though they were like in HS) because they kept saying things like, “are you sure you’re okay hun?”  and after one of them took down my insurance info and the names on the card which were jay and sarah, he asked me while getting my phone number, “and what’s YOUR name?”  and was surprised that i was sarah, the one on the insurance card.  he thought it was my parents’ names.  lol, no hun, i’m the owner of the car and i’m probably old enough to be your mother.  okay, not really, but i’m a lot older than you.
so i hope everyone a beautiful weekend and a safe driving on the road!

swim lessons

July 21, 2011~ Etc.

our girls started taking swim lessons this week with summer splash.
the teacher happens to be my friend amy which of course is a bonus.
my favorite part is the second picture when the teacher told A to mimic a starfish.  A would lift up her little head as high as she could and pucker her lips as high as she could to refrain from her face getting wet.  jay and i kept cracking up watching her.  we think she makes the cutest starfish.  and amy is a great swim teacher and if you want more info, go to her facebook page.
the girls wanted even more swim time afterwards so we went to the seven peaks water park and then went to j-dawgs for their delicious hot dogs.
what is it about swimming that always makes you crave hamburgers and hot dogs?
or maybe that’s just my family?

she no longer looks like a boy!

July 19, 2011~ Etc.

remember the last time we went to this restaurant?
when they gave my oldest pink plates and utensils
while they gave my lil’ one spiderman plates and utensils?
well, we went again and this time they gave lil’ one the pink ones!  hooray! 🙂
i guess she no longer looks like a boy to other people.
w/ my daddy
starring at bugs.  my lil’ one is the bug killer for me while daddy’s at work.

i love my little girls more than my life itself.
i hope everyone’s enjoying the summer!

new headbands added

July 18, 2011~ Etc.

i’ve been busy this past weekend making new designs for my headbands.
a new design feature i added to the headbands is that now you can get them in black, brown, beige or custom order for a color of your choice!  because i personally think it looks best when the headband itself matches the hair color of the person wearing it, like for me, i prefer a black headband since whatever the design on the headband is, it’ll stand out and the headband will fade away with my black hair.
so check out my new headbands and please tell me what you think.
