face mask time

September 7, 2011~ Etc.

i recently saw on t.v about a really good homemade face mask.
i’m usually too lazy to do face masks(last time i did face masks)
but decided to try it out with my girls.
my older one loved it and she wanted to take plethora of pictures
(i got a glimpse of what jay must feel like when i ask him to take lots of pictures πŸ˜‰
while my little one asked me to “get it out!”  as soon as it touched her face.

face mask recipe:
1/2 banana
1/8 c. flour
1/4 c. milk
1 T. honey
mash the banana with your fingers, then add the rest of the recipe and mix.
put over the face for 20 mins. and rinse with lukewarm water.
*it was indeed wonderful.  i think you ought to try it!

california

September 2, 2011~ Etc.

here are the rest of the pictures from when we were in california
1-4: fabric district in LA, 5: church, 6-8: beach, 9-10: shopping at the mall, 11-13: pool
12: cousins 13-15: kidspace children’s museum 16: three princesses
13: have i ever told you my girls have no fear? especially my little one. i swear
they’re like raising two boys.  except more clingy, moody, sensitive, and emotional. πŸ™‚
this picture is of little a after she jumped into the water w/o any support
while i was putting big a into a tube.  i looked to my right at little a and she was
under the water, waving her arms frantically in the air.  i quickly grabbed her
and she cried and even threw up the water she swallowed. πŸ™
i was sure she was done with swimming after that but nope, she played in the
water happily for 30 mins. and then fell asleep on my shoulders,
probably hashed from the trauma she just experienced.
ah, the many moments of almost- heart attacks they give me.
p.s: i had so much fun at the fabric district.  i think they should get one in utah, don’t you? πŸ˜‰

bowling

September 1, 2011~ Etc.

my kids had free bowling passes everyday of the summer through www.kidsbowlfree.com/
but this was the first time we went this summer, and summer is almost over! bummer!
i think i’ll buy them bowling shoes for next year and go like everyday.
if you haven’t signed your kids up, most bowling places offer it until mid-september
so there’s still time!  and it’s offered nationwide.  ok, i totally sound like i’m advertising,
but i’m not, just thought i’d share a good deal since if i was a mom, i’d love to know about it. πŸ™‚

my little girl

August 30, 2011~ Etc.

my little girl is not so little anymore.
she started preschool and i think i was more nervous than her.
i picked out her outfit the day before and set my alarm for the morning
and when i woke up, i felt just like it was my first day of school,
nervous, excited, and giddy.
what she doesn’t know is that after i dropped her off,
i watched her from the window for about 20 mins.
wanting to run in there and give her hugs and kisses,
to tell her, “you are still my little baby, you’re not old enough to go to school!”
but i didn’t and i let her be.  and she was such a good student.
i guess i have to get used to just letting her be and watch from a distant,
knowing that i can’t control everything that she does anymore.
and that makes me really sad, that i have to slowly let her go so she can just be.
but i trust my little one, for she’s such a good girl.
but i will always be right here, just in case you need me.

weekend

August 29, 2011~ Etc.

i went to a cabin to stay overnight with my RS sisters from the church.
we had so much fun that the only times i took pictures were
right when we got there and right before we headed back home.
then my neice had a 100th day b-day party(in korean tradition you have a big party
on the baby’s 100th day to celebrate that the baby is healthy and alive.
-back in the day, many babies didn’t survive past three months in korea)
and my neice also had a baby blessing the next day.

*not pictured:
-jay’s been talking about his NFL draft for over a month and it finally happened.
he reminded me, many many times for the past month, these three things:
1. the kids had to be in bed before then.
2. to get the kids if they happen to wake up.
3. to not bother him.
and when i passed him by to go to the bathroom, he glanced up so i said, “hi!”
which he quickly said, “shh.  i gotta concentrate right now.  this is important.”
i wanted to tell him how he should’ve just said hi back which would’ve
saved a lot more time on talking and more time on concentrating, but i didn’t.
so i guess i only fulfilled the first two.  fail.
