I’m a mean mommy

December 3, 2012~ Etc.

Jay sent me this video the other day with the title of the email, “You are a mean mommy.”.
Haha, I just couldn’t resist.  And excuse my baby-talk-mommy-high-pitched voice!

Ana’s been super sensitive since the day she was born.  Even as a newborn when she would sleep all day and magically be wide awake, screaming and crying the whole time and pooping every 20 mins. from 12-6 a.m every single night for the first two weeks(best time of my life!), I would tell her, “Ana, no, go back to bed.”  and even though I said it very gently and quietly, she would bawl her eyes out every time.  But as I’m watching this video, I can’t help but to have my heart melt as I see her cute bald head and that round face!  And this is probably because I’m her mother, but even her cries are so cute and not at all annoying.

Oh…. my girls.  Do you have daughters that are really sensitive also?  Or sons?  Is this a girl thing?
p.s. welcome my newest sponsor Wooden Palms!
(look how adorable these bird garlands are)

Just when you thought…

November 30, 2012~ Etc.

Just when you thought the kids finally stopped fighting with each other or making a big mess, and are playing nice with their cousin, quietly, and you are able to relax and say to yourself, “Man, I finally get some time of peace and quiet!”
Then they come out looking like this…

They had colored themselves in permanent markers… don’t want to expose Ana too much, so it’s not pictured but she drew all the way down to her legs.  Apparently she wanted to try out for the movie Avatar.
I immediately took off their clothes and put them in the bathtub, and even after I scrubbed them over and over again, nope, it still stayed on for several days after that.

An impromptu family photoshoot

November 29, 2012~ Etc.

When I was getting my pictures taken for the Brahmin catalog, we decided to snap some quick shots of our family since we were all there together.  So we just huddled together in what we were already wearing to get some photos taken.  There were no planning of the oufits beforehand, no stress, no quarrels, this is the way to do family photoshoots!

Thanksgiving weekend

November 27, 2012~ Etc.

1. went to the new outlet mall(only 20 mins. away, yay!) with my mom & had a lunch date
2. watched the rise of the guardians where ana cuddled daddy the whole time
3. supported the small business saturday @ guru’s
4. jay’s bf is staying with us and jay couldn’t be any happier
The last two pictures are of the morning of Thanksgiving.  We always go to auntie and uncle’s house for Thanksgiving breakfast which has become our favorite Thanksgiving tradition.  Jay & his bf were matchy matchy(on purpose, yes.), and trust me, this wasn’t the first time they matched this week.  So precious.
After snapping those pictures, I did not take a single picture afterwards.  I was too busy cooking & eating, taking pictures was the last thing on my mind!  But we made a wonderful feast and had my parents over and some students that were here without family during the holiday.  Jay made the juiciest turkey, and actually most of the food too, while he let me take a nap.  I have so much to be thankful for, and he’s definitely on top of the list.
