Christmas late morning & evening

mostly happy cousins except for one.
thanks to Brahmin’s generosity, I shared the goodies with my mom and my sister.
my mom seems to really like that pink doll, hmmm.
We went to my parents’ house in the late morning and opened presents with them, and ate brunch.  Then we came home to cook a lot of food for our Christmas dinner(Jay made 2 turkeys, I made cheesecake tarts, butter mochi, & homemade pizza), and we went back to my parents’ house to have dinner with family. My sister & her family came to spend Christmas with us from California along with her friend and her daughter, Jay’s cousin Ezra and his fiance Carol, my cousin Ginny and her husband Colby came from New York, my aunt and uncle, another cousin, my parents, and my family, it sure was a full house!
And once again, I did not take a single picture of the massive food we had, I was so hungry and so busy eating instead! oink oink. 

Christmas early morning

In the middle of the night, Santa visited our house with some presents, ate banana creme pie & milk, and stuffed our stockings too.
the reindeers ate the reindeer food we let for them on our porch!
as usual, the girls woke us up very early in the morning.
Achilles got a toy and a steak for Christmas.  
our brave Merida has been wearing this outfit everyday since.  Including the bow & arrow, gladiator shoes, the wig, glow in the dark wisp earrings, the crown, and the necklace.

Preschool Christmas party

We went to Adi & Ana’s preschool Christmas party.  They got to see Santa, make reindeer food, sing songs, and ate a ton of finger foods and desserts.

and this is when my Canon battery died.  In a perfect world, or a perfect blog, this will never happen, but it happens too many times with me.  So I resumed with my iPhone. 😉

When bad things happen to good people

As I was lying in my bed trying to go to sleep last night, I couldn’t help but to weep for the people that are affected by the school shooting in Connecticut.  I’ve been trying to avoid reading the news about it or talk about it with my friends and family, because every time I open my mouth to say something, I just lose it.  So I’ve been crying by myself everyday since the shooting, but I realized bottling it up inside of me and just crying about it is not helping anyone, and there are things I can do to help in my own way.  
First, I can pray for them.  Pray for the lost ones, pray for the people who lost their loved ones, and the ones who were affected by it.  I can pray for them to feel the extra strength they’ll need at this time.  I cannot imagine what they’re going through, and I feel so helpless but one thing I can do is pray for them. 
Second, I can help them in a small way by donation.  100% of the proceeds from my store and the “shop my closet” page will be donated to the Newtown Parent Connection, an organization where all donations will be donated to the families and community affected by the tragedy, and also The Food and Care Coalition, a place my husband has been volunteering every week for the last year, where they provide warm meals 3 times a day to the children and families that might not get a healthy meal otherwise.  I will donate all the proceeds until everything from these two stores are sold out.
Third but not least, I will be more loving, compassionate, and patient towards everyone. There are horrible things that happen in this world that are not fair, but I will be that much more loving, compassionate and patient.  There are a lot of ugliness in this world, but I will be that much more stronger and kind.  Even though there are a lot of evil in this world, there is much more good, starting with me.
