Family movie night

January 15, 2013~ Etc.

each got a personal slab of pizza

As the girls get older, we love how we can watch some of our favorite movies together, like Home Alone!  It was more fun watching it with them since we got to hear their cute little giggles every time the bad guys got hurt.  They thought it was the funniest thing that such a little boy that’s around their age was tricking the two adults and outsmarting them over and over again.

My birthday

January 11, 2013~ Etc.

We celebrated my birthday quiet and simple- just the way I wanted it(not that I could’ve partied hard with my intense morning sickness and all).  Adi made me breakfast with a little help of dad, she really cooked the Portuguese sausage and eggs all by herself.  It was a tiny bit burnt, but nonetheless very delicious and the most darling thing I ever ate.  Then I lied in bed the rest of the day and managed to get out for dinner to one of my favorite spots, Trolley’s. They have the best salad and chicken wings ever!  I told Jay I didn’t want to receive any presents, so he made me a scrumptious strawberry ice-cream roll.  I remember when we were dating and we had a potluck to go to, and I watched him make this ice-cream roll from scratch. I’m sure it was his way of trying to impress me and well, he succeeded. 😉
The day after my birthday, Jay surprised me with a little lunch date!  He told me we were going to to eat lunch with his cousin that’s visiting from HI so he found a babysitter, and when the babysitter came, he told me it was actually just me and him going on a date!  We went to a Thai restaurant and laughed the whole time.  Thanks for a great birthday hun!

Hello.

January 7, 2013~ Etc.

I am not even going to try to be creative with this announcement.
I’ve been feeling very sick the past few weeks.
I’ve been bed-ridden the past few weeks.
I’ve been either throwing up, or worse, wanting to hurl every second of the day.
Every smell(detergent, food, deodorant, vaseline, dog, unscented lotion, etc.) makes me want to hurl.
I feel like poop that keeps being stepped on over and over again.

I am pregnant.

This has got to be the most uncreative baby announcement ever, not even a picture!  I wanted to share this news with a creative & cute announcement that I had planned, but screw it.

I’ve been trying to be positive with my sickness(except for last night when I just lost it and cried by myself after throwing up everything in me, and was still dry heaving), so here are the things that’s making my burdens lighter.

-We are so lucky to be pregnant and having this baby.  This is our first time we actually planned to get pregnant, so it wasn’t a surprise but just pure joy and excitement.
-Jay has been an incredible support and friend.  He has not complained once about picking up all the household chores and taking care of the kids.  He carries me from room to room and holds me just like he holds our daughters, which makes me happy, embarrassed, and laugh at the same time.
-The girls have been playing so well with each other and they learned quickly to not come ask me to do things for them.  I can’t wait to play with them all day and do stuff for them.
-The sickness is getting a little bit better.  Okay, not really, but everyday I wake up in the hopes that it’ll just be gone.  And I know that day will come soon.
-I took my health for granted.  I am determined to exercise, be more active and to clean!  I thought that day would never come!  But seriously, I can’t wait to just clean all day.  I will not take my health and feeling good for granted, and put it to good use.
-If I had a choice to choose any sickness in the world, it would be this.  To be sick because I have a little Jay & me inside of me that’s growing.  We love this baby so much.  And I love Jay and the girls so much.

Happy new year!

January 2, 2013~ Etc.

We let the girls stay up past midnight this new year . They always tell us they don’t want to go to bed when we tell them that it’s bedtime, so you can imagine their excitement when we told them they could go to sleep when mommy and daddy also went to sleep. They were hyper and energetic throughout the night(we had many sporadic dance parties in between, and went to Nickel City where Jay won Plinko 8 times!), but as soon as 10:30 p.m hit, they just plopped on the couch and wanted to watch t.v.  They didn’t move or utter a sound for the next 1.5 hours until we counted down with Carson Daly and drank sparkling cider.  As soon as we gave each other kisses, we brushed our teeth, prayed, and went to bed.
On new year’s day, we had my parents over and had ddukguk, a korean rice cake soup that’s eaten in Korea on new year’s day.  The soup is made with pure beef broth, oval shaped rice cakes, thin slices of beef that’s topped with eggs, sea weed & green onions.  It’s one of my favorite Korean foods, and it turned out delicious!
2012 has been filled with much blessing, love, luck, and happiness, and I’m so excited to see what’s in store for us in 2013!  We wish you a happy new year that’s filled with lots of happiness and health.  Here’s to a great 2013!

Proud to be an American

December 31, 2012~ Etc.

dress: anthropologie

My dad is officially a U.S citizen!  We made a little party out of it with a little sign and drinking sparkling cider.
Also in another exciting news, I’m so thrilled my motherland Korea has her first female President!  I celebrated when President Obama became the first African American president, and now this! I think it’s great our world is becoming more open minded and accepting.  So cheers to that!
