A surprise

February 5, 2013~ Etc.

Every year for the past four years, Jay and I have made each other gifts for under $10 for Valentine’s(see  2009, 2010, 2011, 2012).  To me, a well thought-out gift that doesn’t cost a lot of money is the best gift, and means more to me than any expensive materialism, and I have a feeling Jay loves it too. 😉  So for this year, I told Jay last month that we should keep our gifts handmade and under $10 and he agreed.  But guess what…. he had another plan on his mind!

He surprised me with an early Valentine’s gift.  After spending v-day with him, I get to fly solo to N.Y for 5 days while he uses his vacation days to watch the kids.  He also gave me a shopcard to use to go shopping in N.Y!  I will first go to Rochester for 2 days to visit my brother and his family, and then to New York City for 3 days to visit one of my best friends.  I’ve been wanting to go visit them for the past couple of years but never initiated it to make it happen and Jay’s so sweet to remember and actually make it happen. He talked to them beforehand without me knowing to set the best date for me to visit them and everything!  I’m so excited!!!
If you know of any awesome places to visit or to eat, please let me know!  So far, I want to go to Moods fabric store, and see the Statue of Liberty, but that’s all I have on my list right now.

Knotsberry Farm

January 30, 2013~ Etc.

Snoopy hasn’t aged much, Adi wit Snoopy and then me (jay) on the right with my lil bro when I was 7.  I was styling back then! top that Sarah.
all sporting their nike’s.  i felt a little left out!
Jay the only one really excited about the ride.
top: romwe c/o | mint jeans: DIY | shoes: target | sunglasses: asos
We went to Knotsberry Farm with all of Jay’s cousins and their families who came for the wedding from various places like San Francisco, Hawai’i, and UT.  We also stayed at the same hotel so we got to spend a lot of time with them & I gotta say, Jay’s cousins are all really cool.
I didn’t feel too sick as long as I took  my medicine every 2 hrs. and I also took a 2 hr. nap in the car.  But with this whole morning sickness, I have become this quiet, somewhat aloof and anti-social, quiet boring person!  All my friends we met up with kept asking me if I was okay because they weren’t used to it.  Being such a boring person lately, I also realized that when I don’t have morning sickness, I’m a very fun person to be with.  Haha, yes, I’m totally self proclaiming myself as a fun person.  I told Jay I want to have a big party when my morning sickness is over, and the first thing I’m going to do is go to a really good buffet(Tucano’s?) and eat until I feel sick.  Because right now, nothing tastes good, but I’m constantly hungry.  So I open up the fridge and look for what to make, but every single food I think of makes me want to throw up.  But I eat anyway because not eating will make me more nauseous and I’m hungry, but then while I’m eating, I don’t enjoy the taste at all which is so unfortunate because eating is usually one of my greatest happiness.  Anyway, I can’t wait until food tastes good again!
p.s. we used our bike trailer as a stroller(Jay just unattached the tire wheel in the front) and it was awesome since it was so easy for the girls to get in and get out and there is much storage in the back of the seats & under the seats.  not to mention how easy & smooth it maneuvers.  we highly recommend using a bike trailer at amusement parks or anywhere the kids will need to get in and out frequently, like trick or treating!
p.p.s. jay will give me a hard time if i don’t say this so yes, it was his idea to use the bike trailer as a stroller.  so i can’t take the credit, it was all him.  (you happy now, hun?:)

I love you Ellen!

January 25, 2013~ Etc.

My friend Jasmine got tickets to The Ellen Show and she kindly invited me to come along, and how could I resist?  It’s Ellen!  So I made sure Jay could get work off so that we could stay in California a little longer than planned so that I could go to the taping of The Ellen Show.  We had to be there 2 hours prior to the taping to show our ID’s, check for security and for instructions.  Once we finally sat down on our seats, we only had a couple of minutes to snap pictures of the studio before we had to turn our phones off.
Jennifer Lopez and Kyle Chandler were the guests and Phillip Phillips performed.  He was an excellent lie performer, which is no surprise since he’s the American Idol winner.
Afterwards, we were free to shop at the Ellen Shop and I really wanted to buy those underwear’s but resisted the temptation. How awesome would it have been if I bought undies for every one of my friends and family?  I would’ve officially became the coolest friend on the planet.
Do you see me in the audience? 🙂
