Picnic at a park

March 7, 2013~ Etc.

sweater: anthropologie | leggings: gift | boots: aukoala | headband: s.t collection
The weather is getting warmer here in UT, and it feels so good!  After picking up the girls from preschool, we went straight to the park and had a picnic.  I spent many hours preparing the food for our picnic to make what’s called “lunchables”.  I wanted to run around the playground and play with them, but I wasn’t feeling the best so I sat and watched them play.  Achilles had a fun time going down the slide many times with Adi, and we laughed and talked about the time when we had just gotten Achilles for Christmas and how scared Ana was for the first two months when Achilles was just a tiny little thing.  I love having conversations with my daughters, and how excited I am for the day when we will pillow talk about boys and dating!  I have a feeling they’ll come and talk to me about stuff like that because daddy told them they can’t date until they’re at least 36.
I have been feeling much gratitude lately, maybe because my morning sickness has been much better(I still throw up and feel nauseous after 8 pm, but that’s so much better than 24/7!), or maybe because I feel the little spirit of this baby that’s growing inside me and while little in size, I feel the magnitude of this baby’s incredible character and strength and I have so much love for this baby already, but I am so happy and grateful for my life.  Life is beautiful.

Cupcake party

March 5, 2013~ Etc.

The girls wanted to make cupcakes and invite their friends over for a cupcake party.  So they decorated the cupcakes all by themselves and we invited a few friends over for some cupcakes & milk.  I have a feeling we’ll be throwing many more impromptu parties in the future.

Sledding in our backyard

March 4, 2013~ Etc.

One Saturday while the girls and I were taking a nap, Jay was busy building a sled track in our backyard.  Two hours later, it was finished and ready just when the girls woke up from their naps!  The girls had so much fun going down in their sleds over and over again.

last moments in New York

February 28, 2013~ Etc.

My last moments in New York consisted of thrift shopping where I scored many awesome finds, rode the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty while eating a sesame seed bagel & cream cheese(what is it about their bagel that makes it so good?), and eating at Mono Mono, an awesome place that plays bunch of records and live jazz music.  Their walls are stacked with old records from floor to ceiling, I wish I had a wall like that at my house!  We ate their mango salad, corn on the cob, and chicken wings, which were all very good.
I had half a day the next day by myself before I had to catch my flight, and I walked around Times Square and looked for souvenirs for my girls and Jay.  I also went to Mood fabric store, and I was imagining I was one of the designers on Project Runway.  The store was a bit of a disappointment to me however, and I didn’t find any fabric I loved.  I guess when your budget isn’t $2000, you don’t have as many options. 😉  I had fun walking around the store, and imagining the day I’ll be able to go to a fashion design school so I will have the ability to execute every design I think of in my head and be just as good as the amazing people in Project Runway.

New York, see you again soon.

New York- MET & Magnolia

February 27, 2013~ Etc.

We walked around the city and went to the Metropolitan Musem of Art.  We only saw maybe 10% of the museum and it was so interesting to see so much history with all the exquisite details from all over the world in one place!  After the museum, we went shopping and then stopped at Magnolia Bakery and got their famous banana pudding and cheesecake, along with I love Roma Pizza, and ate on the bed while we watched Pitch Perfect.  It was a perfect day.
