National pie day

March 20, 2013~ Etc.

It was supposedly a national pi day a few days ago(3.14) and we didn’t even know it until Adi came home from her friend’s house and said, “Mommy, daddy, guess what?  It’s pie day today! Mommy, are you going to make a yummy pie?  So and so’s mom is making a pie…”
So we went to Mcdonald’s.

What I wore when I was expecting

March 18, 2013~ Etc.

red dress: c/o oasap | white coat: c/o do-a-fashion | red ankle boots: sears
I have decided to post some maternity fashion series for the next little bit.  I hardly buy any maternity clothes, and wear clothes in my closet that are not maternity clothes but can be worn as maternity wear.  The red dress I’m wearing is stretchy so I can wear it with my 5 months bump.  I probably won’t be able to wear it up until 9 months pregnant, but for now, it works!  I also love the sharp, structured shoulders since it adds a different dimension to my body other than the round dimension I seem have all over my body. 🙂  The coat is also not maternity, but I was able to button it over my round belly without a problem.  The waist-tie cinches right above my belly so it is figure flattering to the body.
Stay tuned for more of What I wore when I was expecting posts!!

Disney on Ice

March 14, 2013~ Etc.

dress & tights: h&m | rain boots: ilse jacobsen | bag: brahmin
We went to Disney on Ice, Dare to Dream which always falls on the week of Ana’s birthday in March and also on the week of Adi’s birthday in November, which the girls think the whole cast comes just to celebrate their birthdays!  We got really good seats(2nd row!), and it was the best Disney on Ice we’ve been to yet.  And we go twice a year, every year, so that’s saying something.

Adi & Ana both sat on daddy’s lap(adi on the left leg, ana on the right leg) the whole show and I thought to myself, ‘what if our 3rd baby wants to sit on his lap too? what then?’  I guess we’ll figure that out later when the time comes, but hopefully at least one of them will want to sit on my lap too!
After the show, we went to Gossip, our favorite pho’ place and ordered three bowls of pho’ which we quickly regretted because all 3 of us together maybe finished 1 1/2 bowls.  I was starving and thought I could eat a whole bowl like I usually do, but my 5 months preggo belly reminded me of how little I could eat in one sitting.  I can’t wait to breastfeed when I can eat a ton and be full, and then breastfeed for 30 mins., and be hungry again!  For you mothers that breastfed, don’t you agree that food tastes SO DELICIOUS when you’re nursing?  I was breastfed for 3 years according to my mom because her appetite was so good while she breastfed me.  No, it wasn’t because she thought it was best for me or for my health. 😉  Was that too tmi?  Oh well, now you know.

The Bachelor Finale

March 13, 2013~ Etc.

This was the 3rd season we’ve been watching The Bachelor at my house every Monday night.  I was only able to host the last 4 episodes with this season due to my morning sickness, but as soon as I started feeling better, I was so excited to watch it with my girlfriends again! Watching it by myself while Jay randomly walking in and taking pictures of me(because of my perma grin I have on my face the whole time while watching the bachelor, or yelling out things randomly to the t.v-he thought was hilarious) was no fun.
For the finale, we dressed in our pajamas(yes, I wore a hot pink silk pajamas.  TLC asked me to be in their music video but unfortunately I had to decline) and had a potluck with the theme “Thailand” since that was one of the locations they visited.  We feasted on matsuman curry, mango sticky rice, chicken thai salad, cupcakes, just to name a few of the goodies we had, and we were one full & happy Bachelor Nation.

Featured

March 12, 2013~ Etc.

I was featured in two great websites recently, check it out!

I wrote an article recently for She Knows Parenting for the hollow rice krispies egg treats, perfect for Easter. View step by step instructions on how to make these hollow Easter egg treats here.
I was a guest post for Effortless Anthropologie, a blog dedicated to everything Anthropologie.  They featured my Tangerine Flicker Dress DIY and me sporting the dress now at 5 months pregnant.  I love dresses with elastic waist, since it can be worn as a maternity dress too!
