On Saturday we went and and saw Cavalia Odysseo, it was an amazing show! I am an animal advocate so I was a little sketchy at first when I heard about them and saw the ads all over the billboard, have you seen this circling around?

Haha, there really have been Cavalia billboards everywhere! Anyway, being the animal advocate that I am who doesn’t attend or support circuses or Sea World, I looked at their website to see how they treat these horses. I read on this page how the horses are treated, and I felt really good about them afterwards! A team of 20 people, including a stable manager, two veterinary technicians, a blacksmith and several grooms, takes care of the horses and every day horses get their share of pampering, including a shower, grooming, massage, outings to the paddocks and workshops with their riders. I also loved that they don’t force these horses to do a certain performance which was apparent in one part during the show when the horse didn’t want to jump over the obstacles. The women on the horse just let the horse be and left the stage.

So after they got my approval, I got tickets for my family to go see the show and the kids were so excited! My daughters’ dream is to own a horse and my son loves all animals so they loved it. My 2 year old son did have to leave the show about 15 minutes before it ended because he didn’t nap(he is at that transitional stage of not napping but getting cranky in the day) and was throwing a tantrum. So for those of you thinking about taking a little toddler, make sure they take a nap or maybe leave them at home with a babysitter.

Afterwards, we had planned on going out to dinner and checking out Dillard’s(they’re going out of business so everything’s on sale!), BUT our son fell asleep as soon as we got in the car so we ended up just driving back home. Parents life!!!

i live in the Utah area also and saw all the wonderful signs. We happened to see the huge tents as we drove past going to womens conference. So glad the show was a success. my daughters friend also went and said it was amazing.
We were in the middle of things and didn’t go. maybe they will come again. Also, i want to thank you… for your consideration of taking your fussy child out during the performance. so many don’t and well, it was very thoughtful of you. it gives parents/children a bad name don’t you think when people just assume that the people around you will just have to deal. i enjoy your posts.
