Jay was in Hawaii for 5 days for his friend’s wedding, which happened to be right during Valentine’s, President’s Day & the 3-day weekend. Yes, the worst week ever to be away! Let’s just say I was the worst single mother and have never yelled, sighed, grunted or complained so much in my entire motherhood.
This copper fondue set purchased here. I am obsessed with copper kitchenware, I want all copper pots and pans!
I tried to live up to Jay’s reputation of being the “fun dad” who has it under control when I am away and makes a better stay at home parent than me. Last time I was gone for a few days, he took them to Nickel City, Kangaroo Zoo, McDonald’s, had picnics, built forts, made steak dinners, yes, basically he’s a super dad. So I didn’t want my kids to think of me as the boring mom so while daddy was away, we went to Nickel City, had Valentine’s breakfast party, a chocolate fondue party, had grandma & grandpa over for a fancy V-day dinner, had a junk food movie night, andtook them to Salt Lake City for Marvel Live Universe! Whew! It was crazy!
A lesson learned: next time Jay is gone, don’t try to be the fun mom and go overboard, it’s better to be a boring, nice mom than a fun, mean mom who yelled and snapped at her kids way too much.
