Sunday Best

November 9, 2015~ Etc.

So you know how I’ve had some professional images lately of some of my DIY’s and outfit posts? Well, would you believe it if I told you that all these pictures were done in ONE HOUR in one photoshoot? That is why I am wearing the same shoes, same necklace, no handbags, I didn’t even think to get different accessories until I got in the car, and I was like screw it! This is too much work!!! Haha. All my fashion blogger friends get photoshoots done where they shoot multiple outfits at one time like few times a week, and I seriously don’t know how they do it. Photoshoots are so stressful! But after it was done, it’s been very nice to have these nice images to use for weeks. I guess having photos for 3 weeks worth of posting is worth it for one photoshoot, right?
Anyway, I am having a giveaway for this Shabby Apple dress on my Instagram, you should come enter! And I post sneak previews of my DIY projects and updates that I don’t post on here. πŸ˜‰

Dress: BCBG | Heels: H&M | Bag: Kate Spade
Do you notice my hair is a little different? I recently got my hair dyed & got the keratine straightening treatment at Pureza Salon & Medi Spa. The picture below is right after my straightening treatment.
I wanted this treatment not for the straightening effect but for shine and while my hair is much straighter and less frizzy, I would say my hair’s only about 10% shinier than before the treatment so if you are looking to get a Keratine straightening treatment mainly for the shine, I wouldn’t recommend it. But if you have curly hair or wavy hair and want your hair straighter and less frizzy, I say go for it! I did find the process a little excruciating because with the straightener, they pulled on my hair for 3 hours and every time they ran over the straightener on my hair, several hairs would get pulled out, no matter how many times I told them my hair was getting pulled out.
Pureza Salon & Medi Spa also pampered me with their Pureza Signature Facial and that one I would do again! It felt so relaxing and my skin felt smooth and glowing afterwards. The facial provides a thorough cleanse, followed by extractions and then layer upon layer of anti aging and fruit enzyme exfoliation to rejuvenate pores and firm the skin. I wished the shoulder and the neck massage was longer but I might just request more of the massage next time. πŸ™‚
Thank you Pureza Spa for letting me have my me-time! I don’t get to pamper myself often but what mother doesn’t need a little pampering now and then? πŸ˜‰

To show you the beautiful lace details of the skirt, I had to make the picture a little dark but still then, it doesn’t do the skirt justice! This is my favorite skirt right now, maybe because my favorite color is white for the Summer. I went to church in this outfit yesterday and another girl was wearing the same exact outfit with light blue top, white skirt and nude heels. I should have taken a picture with her. πŸ™‚

Sunday Best

May 4, 2015~ Etc.

I recently read about a mother who posted a picture of her child on Instagram and someone left a comment with a certain hashtag. Curiously, she clicked on the hashtag and she was shocked at what she saw. She saw numerous pictures of young children in an inappropriate manner and they were all pictures that their parents posted on their own social media! Some were innocent nudity(thank goodness I have not posted my kids in any nudity, however innocent it may be), some were fully clothed, but one thing that seemed to be in common was that the pictures appeared to be in high quality(meaning nice lighting and beautifully captured, even IG pictures) and the children were looking into the camera. She said these people like the ones where the children are looking right into the camera with their full face angled straight, so that they could pretend that the children are looking right into their eyes and engaging with them. That made me SICK. I feel like I have been very careful with posting pictures of my kids and mostly post just about me and myself(I feel so narcissistic guys, but it’s better than posting about my kids!), but now that I know better, I will make wiser choices.
Anyway, oh, was this is supposed to be a fashion post? I forgot. πŸ˜‰ I am in love with this dress so much! My favorite colors are white/ivory and gold. I am obsessed, quiet honestly. I want to decorate my whole house in white and gold. So I paired this crop top + skirt from H&M with gold heels from BCBG, and a DIY necklace made by me(see the tutorial here). And this is my second Sunday Best post where my photos are taken 10ft. away from my house! But just like the first post, we planned on going to the duck pond after church for the kids and I decided to take my outfit there and have my husband snap some pictures, and not the other way around. Jay will NEVER go to another location besides our home to take my Sunday Best pictures guys, I am just grateful he takes pictures right by our front door after church! πŸ™‚
The adorable embroidered dresses are from Flor De Luz Shop, I’ve had the chance to get to know the owner, Nassari better the past year and she is so sweet and wonderful! And she’s due with her 3rd child in about a week, so she’s having some great sales right now too, so make sure to check out her cute shop!

March 6, 2015~ Etc.

I’m so in love with my daughter’s outfit, how about you?  I had to bribe my daughter with an Oreo in order for her to keep her hat on at church.  As for me, these pictures are from when I was featured in the Brahmin Fall 2013 catalogue.  They sent me a few bags for me to style in my own way before sending it back to them which was a fun experience and I got to choose a few bags of my choice to keep in return.  I wore this same exact outfit to church and I even had Jay take pictures but let’s be honest, the pictures sucked.  Not because of Jay but because my poses were just way too cheesy.  Haha!  So I’m posting these pictures instead.

Sunday Best

January 3, 2015~ Etc.

Happy new year everyone!  I for one am so glad those sponsored posts galore is over, aren’t you?  Haha, those sponsored posts wore me out and I am so glad that’s over!  I felt like I sold my soul for sponsored posts, it was insane and I didn’t like it one bit!  But I had to do what I had already agreed to do and keep my word because I take giving my word to someone very seriously.  Since then, I turned down 2 sponsored posts I was approached with and I will make sure this blog doesn’t turn into a commercial.  I’ve decided that I will only work with or even apply to work with companies that I already use and love or a product I would fall in love with after reading up on it.  I’ve always done this before but now, I will be even more picky.
So thank you so much for your patience and understanding and forgiving my amateur blogger self when dealing with the business aspect of blogging.  I will always put my readers first over money and that is my promise to you.
I love you all so much!  Once in awhile I am approached by the lovely people who read my blog and I get so flattered and bashful!  But I love meeting you and also emailing with some of you, and visiting your profiles when you comment, so I can get to know you better!  You know, since I talk endlessly about myself on here, I love getting to know more about you.  And remember when I wrote a post about “How to make friends with anyone?”  Well, one reader made me so proud, she commented asking if we could be friends, she used my advice right away!  So we have been emailing and she’s in UT, so we are going to meet and hang out!
Thank you so much for reading and I wish I could meet you all in person.  I hope this year is filled with lots of happiness and peace and it’ll be all of our best year yet!

Love, Sarah

Baby’s outfit: shirt, pants: h&m | baby moccasins
Her outfit: sweater: gap | skirt: old navy | tights: gap | shoes: toms
My outfit: shirt | skirt: oasap | boots: sears
We went to our cousin’s baby blessing on Sunday and had no time to take pictures so our iPhone had to do, which I think my husband was pretty happy about.  My husband dressed our son and they were matchy matchy on purpose, and my daughter refused to tuck in her sweater underneath her skirt and  was adamant she picked the shoes to go along with her outfit.  She is slowly trying to gain control of her Sunday outfits and I don’t like it one bit!  I might have to go back to bribing her to take her to the dollar store. πŸ˜‰
On another news, it is December 1st and my husband woke me up this morning with a kiss… without his molestache,  Hooray, Hallelujah!  He no longer looks creepy!

Sunday Best and my new favorite online store!

August 11, 2014~ Etc.

top: Target | floral pleated skirt | bag: Brahmin(similar) | shoes: Thredup | pave coin necklace: PaveMaison | bracelet: J.Crew
I’ve been looking for a gold pave coin necklace and finally found one at PaveMaison.  It’s simple yet elegant and fancy.  And I got my shoes for $15 from a store I just found out about, Thredup.  It’s an amazing store that sells gently used designer brand clothes at an awesome price!  It’s basically an awesome thrift store that’s online.  It’s my favorite store to shop right now and I’ve been telling my friends about it, it’s that good!  I am not getting paid to promote the site, I genuinely really love it(I wouldn’t be promoting any site unless I love it, whether it was sponsored or not).  I love the idea of shopping at thrift stores but hardly go in the store because it’s overwhelming with so many items that you have to sort through.  But with shopping online, you can filter it by brand, size, color, or categories, it makes it so easy!  I also hate the smell of clothes from thrift stores, the “used clothes” smell, but you get a cleaned, no-smell clothes from Thredup, I love it.  You do have to scroll through quiet a lot before finding an item you like, at least that’s how it is for me, since there’s a ton of items but it beats going into the store and rummaging through one by one.
I’ve made two orders already and found awesome deals.  I got these shoes for $15 and all my items I received are practically brand new, some brand new with tags attached.  I also got two pairs of gold shoes from BCBG, a J.Crew army vest for my daughter for $18, GAP overalls for my son for $3, Seven for all mankind jeans for $38, Nike apparel for under $10, among many more.  I’m a little addicted!
If you click on this link Thredup and then use the code: BTX7Y9, you’ll get 40% off your first order!  Or use code: B2S5XC for $20 off $100.  Anyway, that’s enough of my love for this store for today. πŸ™‚

*If you click on the Thredup link, I will earn a $10 credit to my account from your first purchase.  You get 40% off, and I get $10 store credit, we both win! πŸ™‚

Thredup sounds amazing! You probably don't know this, because I can't even seem to find the info on their website, but do you think they ship to Australia? I'd love that sort of thing here. Genuinely low prices for second hand goods seems more and more rare as time goes on..

Sunday Best

February 10, 2014~ Etc.

My outfit: Dress: Banana Republic | necklace: Target | yellow heels: local boutique | sunglasses: oasap
There will be no his Sunday best this week because my son is sick and stayed home from Church.  As I’m typing this, I’m carrying my son in the baby carrier while I pushed the chair aside and am half standing on my knees, rocking him back and forth hoping he’d go to sleep so I can go to bed.  It is 1:49 am after all.  Sleep training went out the window this past week because I cannot bear to see him cry when he’s sick!  So he’s been sleeping only on my or my husband’s chest.  Oh, somebody help us, we need some major sleep training intervention!
