today my two girls and i played this pretend game where we get on the bed and pretend there’s crocodiles on the ground as we hit it with whatever object we have on hand, and tell it to go away.
i’ve played this game with adi before but it was ana’s first time. the first few mins. she just looked at us and the carpet all confused but soon she got the idea and played along, telling the crocodile, “no no no!”, “oh coco!(crocodile)” and whipping it with a rope we had. we played for 10-15 mins. when all of a sudden, i had to go to the ladies room. so i went into the bathroom that’s connected to the bedroom where the bed was and did my business. eh hem, sorry if it’s too tmi(too much information, in case you were wondering mom 😉 soon, adi came to hang out right next to me and then ana started to whimper and cry. i kept telling ana, “ana, what’s wrong? come here to mama.” but she just kept on crying and saying, “mommy! mommy!”
so i stood up and peeked to the bed and i found her in the very corner of the bed, the side closest to the bathroom, squatting and groping the corner of the bed firmly and looking my way. i said to her, “come here ana, mama’s right here.” and she looked down at the carpet, grabbed the side of the bed more firmly and looked at me with teary eyes and said, “mommy! mommy!”
then i realized she was scared of the crocodiles! my heart stopped and melted as i realized she was scared of the thing we were beating and telling it to go away. she was scared if she got off the bed, the crocodiles would attack her. oh my sweet little innocent child. how much she trusts and leans on me.
being a mother makes me more pure and innocent as i raise my two pure, innocent children. they’re so clean and pure, believing everything i say. i can’t help but delight in small things that delights them, such as today, adi and i were walking down the stairs when adi started walking down thumping her little legs like a little soldier and she kept laughing, thinking it was the funniest thing. it makes me realize life is so fun, especially the tiny, simple things.
i love being a mother.

Ana looks so much older already from summertime. Adi always gives these cute sweet smiles at the camera, and then there's Ana with her scrunched up nose and bared teeth. haha. I love it. Good luck with the Shabby Apple contest this year. Hopefully they know a good dress design when they see it, unlike last year. haha
