My beloved trainer Sabrina Packard got married last week. She was a few months away from being done with her mission when I was just starting mine. We didn’t really like each other the first day because I was trying to be the “perfect” missionary with quiet dignity that you learn EVERY missionary should have and even if we took one minute longer for our lunch, I would feel all stressed out.
But our relationship soon changed. On the second day together while we were tracting, knocking on houses to share our beliefs of Jesus Christ, I was wearing a trench coat that was down to my knee and I said to Sis. Packard, “You know why I love this coat? It’s because no one can tell if I’m picking my wedgie.” I said this as I was picking my wedgie. She busted out laughing (I said it in all seriousness, it really is why I love long coats!) and she said that was the moment when she fell in love with me. I soon learned NO ONE likes you if you’re self righteous and anal, and I learned you do not need to lose your personality just because you’re a missionary. We saw so many success and cried tears of joy and also sadness together and what more can I say, I just LOVE this girl to death. She was a wonderful trainer and no doubt she’s going to be a wonderful wife and a mother.
