Some people have asked me what helped me during my morning sickness. I tried many things to cure it and here are some things I’ve tried that didn’t really work.
• Ginger ale – not a fan and it didn’t help.
• Preggie pops – it seemed to help for about 20 mins. but it might just be a placebo effect and it didn’t taste good enough for me to continue eating them.
• Essential oils – the smell was too strong and it didn’t really help.
• Lemon – didn’t help but I liked the sour taste.
• Eating many smaller meals a day – I still threw up and felt nauseous all day.
But thank goodness for medicine, I was finally able to find some that worked! It really works!
- Vitamin b-6 – this pill alone made me morning sickness free for 2 weeks. But then after 2 weeks, I started throwing up and feeling nauseous so I added these other two to the mix. I took one full pill(50mg) a day.
- Ondansetron – This is the generic version of Zofran. I took literally 1/8-1/10 of the pill or else it would make me really sleepy. The first time I tried this pill, I took the whole thing and it knocked me out for almost a full day. I took this every 4-5 hours.
- Promethazine- I also took about 1/8-1/10 of one pill of this or else it would make me sleepy or constipated. I forget which, but both are not good by my standards. I took this every 4-5 hours.
It took me 3 weeks to figure out the portion control for the last two meds after many trial and error. I would show people how I would cut up these two pills in tiny, tiny pieces and how small of a portion I took it and they were all surprised that such a tiny amount(it was more like a tiny crumb) could even make a difference. But it did, and I’ve told my other friends about it and some who didn’t listen and took the full pill or even 1/2 a pill of these two, they all told me it made them really sleepy and it knocked them out for at least several hours. I know it all depends on your metabolism, weight, height, what not, but one of my friend was 5’9″ and it still knocked her out so start out small, at least 1/4 a pill.
Anyway, these pills really saved me from the horrible morning sickness and I just wish I had found out about it sooner. It would’ve saved almost 2 months of being practically bed ridden! So hopefully this post will help someone else.
What morning sickness remedies have you tried that worked or didn’t work for you?

Ondedestron is the generic for zofran…

I took onde too after trying just about everything including cutting up ginger and sucking on it. Blah! For me taking 1/2 a pill more often so every six hours worked better than taking the full thing. Also you need to consider mg per pill. They very based on your prescription. Mine was 8mg ( about the dose they give a child for keno) so I took 4mg every six hours. I was already so flipping exhausted I didn't notice a change much. Or in my bowels either. (I've been told it makes you constipated and you can get some serious bowel issues) Because I couldn't hold liquid down until then it only helped the situation, because I could drink water again! Halalujah for not being in that stage anymore! Right?!

A friend sent me the link to this. I just talked to my ob about those options because I am so sick of being sick! Thanks for the tips. I can't wait to try!

I heard ginger ale doesn't actually have ginger in it, so maybe that's why that didn't work for you?
Anyway, eating ginger candy has been the best option.

I took a unisom (sleep aid) as recommended by my doctor every night and it helped with my morning sickness sooooooooo much. the only thing was I didn't want to give it up long after I didn't have morning sickness and even now I long for the relaxing feeling of the little blue pill, so yeah I think addictive. I also cut it up into very small portions, would take maybe 1/6 of a pill.

Someone on youtube who was pregnant shared that she used sea ban last time to help control morning sickness. Maybe you can check that out. No drugs no side effects.

Hmm, I think the ginger ale we got does have ginger in it. But yeah, I hear ginger candy helps but I never knew where to get them!
Sarah says
Ooh, that does sound addictive, thanks for the info!

My husband actually did get that for me but it would've been too expensive to use everyday, since it lasts only 48 hours or something?
