Two years ago, my little brother-in-law Mike got his mission call for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He turned in his application and within a few weeks received a thick envelope containing information about where he will be serving for the next 2 years of his life. It could be within the states, or worldwide, and we were all anxious to see where he would go! We gathered his friends and family that lived near us but for his parents and siblings that were in Hawaii and couldn’t make it, we used Skype(http://skypestaytogether.com/) so they could also participate in the exciting moment when Mike would open up the envelope and read out loud his destination to all of us.
And guess where he got called to! The Hong Kong, China mission! He just finished his mission and he’s now back and it’s so crazy how fast those two years went by! Adi and Ana were only 3 and 2 years old and now my oldest will start Kindergarten this Fall. I can’t believe I will have a Kindergartner in just a few months!
Welcome home Elder Mike, we are so proud of you!

My brother served his mission there as well! My Mandarin speaking mother was so disappointed that she wouldn't be able to teach him Mandarin when he announced that he was Cantonese speaking. π
