President Thomas S. Monson, the President of our LDS church invited me to attend his birthday bash last Friday because we’re just tight like that. Okay, not really, me and 20,000 other people were selected via random selection to attend his 85th birthday celebration, and I signed up hoping I would get the tickets and luckily I did! So my friends and I made a GNO out of it, and drove up together to watch the event, and then ate at the Cheesecake Factory afterwards.

The celebration was amazing. Steve Young and Jane Clayson Johnson hosted, while the incredible opera singers Rebecca Luker(who played the main characters on the broadway shows in The Sound of Music, The Secret Garden, and The Phantom of the Opera) Stanford Olsen, and Dallyn Vail Bayles performed songs from Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera and many more.
And is it bad that I LOVE going out without my kids? Every time I kiss them goodbye and leave the house, as soon as I get in the car I do a little dance and scream in excitement. It just feels so good to get out once in awhile without the kids, not having to worry about taking care of/feeding/entertaining/disciplining/watching them but only worrying about myself for a little while. And then I miss them like crazy, and come home feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

You are in the motab? That is amazing!!! The choir sounded soooo amazing! Do you get to meet and shake hands with the general authorities? I was honestly thinking how I would love to try out for it one day. π

What a fun evening out to celebrate President Monsons birthday with your girlies! It is a bit of a giddy dance to go out with friends sans kids. Just found your blog via the 36th avenue;) Lovin the lace top with yellow skinnies/leopard print flats in the previous post!
